What is Riverside?
Riverside is a community centre for the whole of the Malmesbury Community Area. The building has been provided by Wiltshire Council, as part of their 'Campus' project, however the centre itself is run by 'Friends of Riverside' who are all local volunteers. 'Friends of Riverside' are registered as a charitable incorporated organisation with the Charity Commission Reg'd No. 1169149.

Friends of Riverside
We are local volunteers have been working in partnership with Wiltshire Council for the last few years to bring about this new venue for the Malmesbury Community Area. We are known as 'Friends of Riverside' and we run the Centre. (N.B. The Skatepark is run by another group and continues to operate at the rear of the building. Details can be found here). However, what we like to achieve doesn't stop at just the Community Centre. We are aware that there are community groups in the Malmesbury Area who would like a little support now and again and we hope we may be able to assist with this. We are also interested in organising Malmesbury Community Area wide projects and events and potentially support those run by other groups. Friends of Riverside wish to promote wellbeing and community cohesion through people's involvement in activities together. Spreading 'the love' as the saying goes, brings us together and makes our communities stronger and more resilient. |
